website: http://www.outdoors.org/lodging/mohican/index.cfm

Weather: http://www.bing.com/weather/forecast?q=weather+for+blairstown+nj&unit=F&FORM=DTPWEA

In a nutshell, the weather should be perfect for hashing and late summer camping. 70° during the day, down to 50° at night—perfect for snuggling. .

RSVP: This is crucial  Without an accurate he*d count, we can’t work out the cost and assure we have adequate materials and supplies.

The hash experience:

This is a buy one, get two free situation. No need to join Groupon.com or Woot.com to get this incredible deal.

Friday at 7pm: a very special guest hash set by the Bimbos of Jersey. (Sunset is at 7:30PM, so don’t be late, and don’t fall off any dark cliffs)

Saturday at 3PM: Hared by Dog E Style and Puss in Boobs.

Sunday Fatboy, hared by an as yet-unknown volunteer. (A redemption for Massengil?)

Cost: TBD, somewhere around 30 bucks for the w/e

What you get:

·         The great outdoors.

·         A 24 hour-a-day fire for socializing—fire jumping not recommended.

·         Wildlife in the form of: Bears, raccoons, snakes, porcupines, beavers, and the occasional orange salamander.

·         Watersports on the lake: Swimming, snorkeling, canoeing and kayaking (BYOP: Bring your own paddle).  We can “self-liberate” some boats to check out the lake.

·         Beer: Plenty provided, but (BYOB) bring more so we don’t run out –“The Horror”.

·         Camping: (BYOT: bring yer own tent) (naturally)… if you don’t have one, contact the committee, they may have extras.

o   The tent sites are flat, with plenty of wood-platform spots.

o   Backpacking not necessary, you can drive up to the group-site, but must park in the main lot (300yrds away).

·         Trails. The Mohican Center is on the Appalachian Trail, a segment of which will be used for our selfish hashing purposes.  It is highly unlikely that we will hash as far as Georgia or Maine.

·         A word about dogs: Harlot (and maybe Saliva) will be there.  The trails are rocky with uneven footing, only hardy dogs need apply. The website says they have to be on a 6’ leash, and you're not supposed to lose them.

·         Food: BYOF, GI has allowed us the use of his kick-ass propane stove.

o   Suggestions: Bring a brown bag for Fri evening, and something for the fire.

o   Sat and Sunday AM will be a self-service omelet station (like in those fancy-smancy hotels). Eggs, cheese, veggies and a small assortment of meat will be provided.

·         Cell Phones:  The service is better than before, but don’t rely on coverage.( Verizon works in most areas.)

What you don’t get:

·         Little Sacs/Deranged and Tub Slut have agreed to be each other’s “wing man” at the NYC H3 Red Dress run in Manhattan on Saturday; neither will be at the Mohican Center.

·         An utterly fantastic hash set by Sassy Lassie in South Orange, NJ.

What to bring:

·         Camp chairs. There are plenty of logs to sit on, but none are as comfortable as your own chair

·         Here’s a list from the Center’s website: http://www.outdoors.org/lodging/mohican/mohican-facts.cfm

Again:

RSVP to doge_style@comcast.net, c:(908) 246 1733, or use the Facebook page… But update it if you aren’t going to show up, "Scott". As of this writing there are 10 confirmed.
